2021.12.08 03:23 PTvE_Design A question about restringing
Good day folks. As of yesterday I am the owner of my first mandolin, an Eastman MD305, after playing guitar for multiple years. The question I have is as follows: should I restring the instrument one string at a time or all at once when it becomes time to do so?
Allow me to explain my reasoning for both.
With guitars it's usually favourable to go all at once, as this allows you to service the instrument better. I have quite some experience with finicky tailpieces (proud owner of a Bigsby-outfitted Gretsch) but even there this still stands. However: In the world of violons I've heard countless times that you should never, ever, take off all strings at once. Their reasoning for this is that the soundpost might fall over (a rather expensive repair) and that the bridge can shift.
My mandolin does not have a sound post, but it does have a floating bridge. I know how to line up the bridge to the f-holes from being an enthusiast about luthiery, but I'm not looking forward to having to reset the intonation of the instrument from scratch.
So my question stands: what does everyone here do? Thank you for your consideration and have a splendid day.

2021.12.08 03:23 That_white_dude9000 23 m feeling a bit lonely [chat/relationship/whatever]
I love Christmas time but also hate it. Every year I see friends and family enjoying being together & in relationships and whatnot and especially the past few years working in healthcare where I miss out on family events and get ghosted on dating apps bc of my schedule, it just makes me feel extra lonely.
In other news, I sing, play 3 instruments, video games/tv as time allows, I’m into target shooting/hunting sometimes, i love cars….. feel free to message me! I’ll chat with anyone but for relationship, I’m straight so…

2021.12.08 03:22 Lukethanuke How can retain reflexes so I can keep playing action games?
While I don't consider myself an old man but I am not a young man anymore (32). I have played most every type of game and have recently realized that I draw the most satisfaction from action oriented games that are tough but fair, such as Monster Hunter or Sekiro. But As I have grown older I have noticed however that my ability to react to more demanding games are noticeably less easy to enact.
It is a distinct fear that there will come a day where no amount of effort will overcome the amount of "git good" I need to achieve. Part of me acknowledges that this is an inevitability of age and life. But I will be remiss if I dont at least attempt to stave of entropy's thieving machinations.
To that end I ask reddit, What can I do? Is there such a thing as good posture for your hands? Are there foods one can eat that have been known to prevent arthritis? Stretches that help with finger health?
The obvious answers are already known: Eat healthy, be fit, take your vitamins. I Know these things, what I'm asking is the more esoteric nature of a gamer's long term heath needs.
My thanks for your consideration.

2021.12.08 03:22 Humble-Disaster-2418 One tiny step at a time.
Hi Reddit!! I'm the 23/yo soda addict from this post
I'm here to update on my situation, and announce some of the amazing changes that have happened to me since then.
Now- due to catching a cold (having panic attacks does a MAJOR whammy on your immune system!), I had to move my dental appointment to the 17th. I'm still really nervous, but I'm excited to share that I've made some really amazing progress.
I've since gotten a job that pays very well, enough that I'll be able to knock out my 14k left of student loans by summertime, and I've also been soda free for officially 17 days now.
I also got myself to a doctor and spilled the beans about my health- got some Prozac for the anxiety, and am getting my thyroid levels balanced. I've been faithfully taking my medication for 5 whole days now, and while that seems small, it feels incredible for me to do so.
I'm drinking heaps more water, and only have lemonade or flavored water as a treat. I'm tracking my habits with a daily counter, and am using a remineralizing paste nightly, and I swear I can see some old scars healing.
I want to be better, more than anything else in the world. I want to provide a good life for my fiance, for our future family, and be HAPPY with myself for once, and this... honestly, all feels so massive. I'm even going to start yoga and meditation in the morning.
Who knew that a chipped tooth would be such a huge wakeup call for my mental health?
I feel like an adult with her hands on the wheel for the very first time. Getting my dental health all cleared up will be the sugar-free icing on the cake.
Let me be the first to tell you that deciding to be better is absolute terrifying. You will spend night after night in fear, anxiety, regret, confusion, and terror. You'll cry, shake, wake up with a pounding heart, you won't be able to eat or get off the couch- but once that gives way to resolution?
True, actual determination to change?
You'll be invincible.
TL;DR: You can do it. One tiny step at a time.

2021.12.08 03:22 Open-Tie-3007 Sacred Oath Option: Oath of the Judge (v. 1.0) Inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced Judges.
Hello, this is my first time creating homebrew. I really like the feel and flavor of the Judges from Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced and 12. When I went to search if there was already something like this I didn't find much, and what I did find, I didn't feel truly captured the feel of it. So, this is my result in trying to make one myself. I'd love feedback particularly on improvements I can make on the fluff to match the lore more closely or how to improve it mechanically. Hopefully I don't break any rules while doing this! Thank you for any positive feedback!

2021.12.08 03:22 ryan_arevalo16 ‘05 Eclipse Spyder GTS
Someone is offering me one for $2,500. Haven’t seen it in person yet, but pics look great, other than the slight tear on the driver’s seat. It’s at 140,000 miles. I’d be using it as a daily to work and school, which aren’t that far from me. What do you guys think? How reliable is the car?
Thanks in advance.

2021.12.08 03:22 Feeling_Reason_5702 Talking
To often the only time I hear people talk is when they want something. Tank commanders not communicating but every 5 minutes demanding a tank, infantry not pinging enemy armour or putting down garries when asked then blaming the commander for losing, the whole point of this game is teamwork, I get not everybody is gonna want to talk when its 50 randoms thrown together but stick to other roles or at least ping infantry and armour so people know and can react. Communitcation literally makes or breaks games and sometimes all it takes in one person to be vocal for others to join in and start communicating. That is all, see you on the battlefield

2021.12.08 03:22 DubMastahFlex So is mycelium just one thing or is there different types of mycelium for different mushrooms?
I remember in the Paul Stamets documentary (forgot the name of the doc) he said that mycelium is one big network. So does that mean that mycelium can grow any mushroom when spores come in contact with it? Or is there specific mycelium for a specific mushrooms?
