2021.12.08 03:43 dumdaramastmast What was the most groundbreaking thing that helped you to learn python (Fast or slow doesn't matter)?
What do you think was that 1 thing that helped a lot while learning python. Was it making projects? If yes, how did you decide what types of projects you could do at your current level?
Was it some books? Automate the boring stuff? How is the udemy course for the same book? Is it as great as book?
How much practice did you did? And from where did you practice? Like what you exactly practice? Leetcode? Or what??
I am personally confused in for loops(nested for loops) to be precise. Got any tips for me?

2021.12.08 03:43 BigGirthyBob Advice wanted re first loop/s
I'm about to run my first couple of loops, and I'm just after some general advice about loop order and a couple of other things (I'm doing the wife's system as well as mine, is the reason for multiple loops).
Cases are Thermaltake Core P8s, which have a lot of theoretical radiator configs/compatibilities, but are actually quite limited in terms of what configs you can run together as rads start conflicting with each other quite easily.
After trying and failing to source Thermaltake parts (and kinda deciding not to based on the reviews anyway), I've gone for the Bykski option for both systems.
This includes the Bykski version of the Thermaltake Core P5 distro plate with built-in pump (preferred this to the L shaped version as it doesn't limit you to a 360 rad on the rear intake), 2 x 480mm rads (which I plan on using), 1 x 420mm rad (don't plan on using due to compatibility issues), a 120mm rad (don't plan on using for this build, but I have it anyway), and a 120mm distro plate for the top rear exhaust port. Block wise, I have a GPU block with a second active backplate block, a CPU block and a RAM block (might not use this, but it was cheap af in the sale, so we'll see how much it complicates things I guess).
The distro plate contains the pump, so that's the start of my loop order obviously. From there, it clearly goes GPU block into GPU backplate block, but from there I'm not sure if I should go straight into the CPU block, or into the second distro, top 480 rad, and then into the CPU block (in my head this would mean the CPU is getting a cooler water feed, but I'm not sure how much difference this would make in practice), which then goes into the RAM block, back into the main distro, then into the rear mounted 480mm rad, before finally going back into the main distro plate.
A: does this all sound okay/logical/reasonable? (or can someone recommend a bettemore effective way to do it?)
B: I would very much like to keep my GPU vertically mounted from an aesthetic POV, but I'm worried that this both makes the loop more difficult to run (partly because of the active backplate and proposed not going straight to the CPU from there), and also presents a significant obstacle if I ever need to get to one of the lower M.2 slots, or remove the CMOS battery for some reason (I do have a dual BIOS mobo with clear CMOS functionality, but Gigabyte's last BIOS update essentially bricked my mobo/rendered clear CMOS useless, and the only way I could fix it was with a manual pulling of the CMOS battery). Any clever solutions to this, or is this just a risk I run? (I know about quick disconnects, but the general verdict seems to be that they are a significant point of failure, and also lower flow rate a decent bit).
C: Has anyone that's built in one of these got any tips to share/can spot any flaws/conflicts in my plan, as I'm aware the top rad and the rear rad aren't going to have much clearance between them once the fans are taken into account for instance (all my rads are standard 30mm thickness for this reason). I know some of the bonkers builds in these things have 3d printed brackets to allow the top and bottom of the case the same spacing as the front/allows you so you can properly fit rads+fans/even push pull without leaving the glass panels off etc., but honestly, this is all far too hardcore/much work for me lol).
Sorry for the long post, and thanks.

2021.12.08 03:43 Brasdeoliva Smoking Downstairs Neighbor
I’ve gone through previous posts on similar subjects but looking for more information on my specific situation. I moved into a non-smoking building in May 2021. Almost immediately we were smelling cigarette smoke drifting into our windows, air ducts & floorboards (it’s an old building). I’ve spoken to my building manager and landlord and they confirmed our downstairs neighbors have “no-smoking” language in their lease. The building supposedly sent an addendum in August to the neighbors in question just to confirm everything was up-to-date. They also put up a couple no-smoking printouts in the hall which have since been removed (not sure who actually took them down). I was told to text each time we smell smoke by a building manager that helps out our actual building manager. We’ve done this for six months. We can also see it drift from their window. I even have a text of our building manager admitting that he smelled it in the hall. Our manager and landlord eventually stopped responding. Per the other building manager’s suggestion, I ended up screenshotting the texts, all the way back from June, including the ones that my landlord ignored, and sent it to them again via email. I did this to track all of our texts and show lack of response. I also mentioned how we aren’t the only tenant to file a complaint about it, and how were subjected daily while working from home. My landlord responded for the first time in a couple of months explaining that it takes a while and she’s trying to retain a lawyer. She said the same thing months ago (August 15th specifically). I don’t know how long that actually takes, so maybe I’m being unfair.
My main questions are: Has anyone gone through this in SF? If so, how long did it take to come to a resolution/eviction? Is it normal to wait this long for assistance? Is there someone else I can contact for help?
I feel like I’m just being dragged along and told what I want to hear. It’s all unfortunate as I love my apartment, it’s affordable, and I would like to stay if the smoke stops.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

2021.12.08 03:43 SZInsoniac Cheese-making videos and survivorship bias?
Hi, a new member here, plan to start with making my own cheese soon after I move to a bigger apartment.
Meanwhile, I am watching various youtube tutorials and can't help but wonder to what extent are those videos susceptible to so-called survivorship bias. I.e. the authors publish videos of their successes, but rarely if at all mention failures.
In other words, I am wondering if you follow the recipes with proper ingredients and equipment, how often could your cheese fail? By failure in this case I don't consider cracking surfaces, but basically rendering your cheese unedible or at least quite unsavory.
Thanks all, I would love to try my hand at this one mainly because I come from a family that used to brew its own wine, produce various sorts of jams, etc. and I feel I should continue in their footsteps in a way. The second reason is that although I often bought cheddar from supermarket chains, I somehow feel I've never actually tasted a real cheddar.
